Drywall patching and repair options

Holes and dents

Door handle dings, furniture damage, leftover anchors, or the holes a TV bracket leaves behind. We size the repair to the opening and the condition of the drywall around it, so the wall ends up smooth and solid.

Cracks and damaged seams

Cracked joints, peeling tape, or an earlier patch that still shows. We repair the seam and finish it so the wall looks clean again.

Wall and ceiling patches

Areas that were opened up for access or damaged during other work. We close them up and finish them to blend in with the wall or ceiling around them.

Moving a screen? We can combine TV mounting with repair of the old mounting holes in one visit. For a longer list around the house, we can take the whole list of rooms and repairs together, so everything gets finished at once.

How much does drywall repair cost?

The price depends on the size and number of repairs, and whether you'd like texture and paint to finish them off.

Getting a free estimate is easy: tell us what you need, add a photo if you have one, and we'll take it from there. You'll know exactly what's included before any work starts.

What goes into a finished repair?

  1. Look at the area. We check the damaged material and the existing finish, so the repair fits the wall it's going into.
  2. Patch and finish. Depending on the damage, we may replace a section of board, reinforce the repair, apply joint compound, and smooth the surface.
  3. Blend the surface. Texture, primer, and paint complete the repair, and we agree on them with you up front so the scope is clear.

A good finish is built in coats, and each one needs time to dry. Depending on the compound, the thickness of the coats, and the temperature and humidity, a repair may take more than one visit. We plan the schedule around the finished wall, not just filling the hole.

Texture matching and painting

Match the surrounding surface

A good repair blends in with the wall's texture as well as its shape. Smooth, orange peel, knockdown, or another finish, we look at what's on your wall and choose a method that matches it. Not sure what you have? Just tell us what you see, and a photo helps.

Texture, existing paint, and lighting all affect how a patch looks, so we take them into account as we work toward a clean, finished result.

Choose touch-up or a full wall repaint

We can include painting with the repair. Leftover paint is handy, and we're happy to work from it. Paint age, application, and surface texture can make even the same color look a little different on a repaired area.

When a touch-up would stand out, repainting the wall from corner to corner gives the most consistent look. Add interior painting to your estimate request if you'd like the repair finished in color.

Drywall repair questions

Can water-damaged drywall be repaired?

Yes. We look at the damaged area, repair or replace the affected drywall, and finish it so the wall looks right again. A photo of the stain or damage helps us plan the work.

What if a crack keeps coming back?

We take a closer look at the crack and any earlier repairs, then repair and finish it so it blends back into the wall. Tell us when it first showed up and we'll take it from there.

Will one small patch take only one visit?

Sometimes, but not always. Drying, texture, primer, and paint can happen in stages, even on a small area. If you have a deadline, let us know and we'll plan the timing around it.

How should I prepare the room?

There's not much to it. We plan the work area, protect your space, and clean up as part of the job, so you're left with a finished wall and not a mess.
