Trim repair, replacement, and custom carpentry
Whether you want to keep the existing style or freshen up the room, we'll plan the work to match. We protect nearby surfaces as we go and leave the area clean and finished.
Matching existing baseboards and trim
A close match involves more than the height of the board. The profile, thickness, material, and painted or stained finish all affect how a replacement meets the surrounding trim. A close-up of the shape and a wider photo of where it sits in the room help us get it right.
A leftover piece or product label makes comparing easier. Some older or discontinued profiles have no exact replacement. In that case, we can suggest a similar profile or replace a complete run so the change has a natural stopping point and the result looks intentional.
For stained wood, we take the species, grain, and existing finish into account. For painted trim, we can handle filling, caulking where appropriate, priming, and finish paint. A new section sometimes calls for paint on the surrounding trim too, so the whole wall looks uniform.
Wood rot and moisture-damaged trim
Soft, crumbling, or stained trim is a common problem around doors, windows, and other spots that get wet. Tell us where you see it, and a few photos help us start the conversation. Once we're on site, we can see how far the damaged material goes.
A good repair deals with the source of the moisture as well as the damaged trim, so the new wood stays sound and the finish holds up. We replace the affected material and finish it so the repair blends into the surrounding area.
If the damage runs deeper than the trim, reach out. Sean will look at it with you and talk through the plan before any work begins.
How much does carpentry and trim repair cost?
The price depends on how much trim or woodwork is involved and the finish you want.
Getting a free estimate is easy: tell us what you need, add a photo if you have one, and we'll take it from there. You'll know exactly what's included before any work starts.
Request a Carpentry EstimatePlan the repair and finish together
Removing old trim can reveal wall damage or an outline of the previous paint. We can add drywall patching and painting and touch-ups to the carpentry so the whole area looks finished, not half done.
For a longer to-do list around your home or business, one call covers all of it. Send us the list through a property maintenance request and we'll plan the carpentry alongside the other repairs.
Carpentry and trim repair questions
Can you replace just the damaged part of a baseboard?
Often, yes. It depends on the condition of the material, the available profile, and where the new piece can join the existing trim. Photos of the damaged section and the full wall help. When an exact match isn't available, replacing a longer run can give a more consistent look, and we'll talk through that option with you.
Should I buy the trim before requesting an estimate?
No need. Request your free estimate first, and we'll help you plan the profile, quantity, and finish. If you already have materials on hand, just let us know and we'll work with them.
Is painting included with trim replacement?
It can be. Installation, preparation, priming, and painting are all part of a finished trim job, and we spell out exactly what's included in your estimate. We can finish just the new piece or repaint the surrounding trim for an even look.
Can you give an estimate from photos?
Yes, photos are a great way to start. For detailed matching or custom work, Sean can also take a look in person so the scope and price are right.
Can you build something from a reference photo?
Yes. Send the photo along with your ideas for size, how you'll use it, and the material you like. A reference shows us the look you want, and we'll work through the construction details and fit with you.
