Interior, exterior, and closet door services

Interior doors

Bedroom, bathroom, and other room doors that rub, latch poorly, or need replacement. We can also update the hardware, door style, or surrounding trim so the finished doorway looks complete.

Exterior doors

Entry door repairs and replacements where the door, frame, threshold, and weather seals all work together. Drafts, gaps, water entry, or soft wood around the opening are all things we can look at.

Closet doors

Repair or replacement for closet doors that swing, fold, or slide, including panels, tracks, pivots, and other hardware.

Have several doors in one home, or a longer list around the house? One visit can cover them all. We'll sort out which doors need a simple adjustment and which are better replaced.

Should you repair the door or replace it?

A door that sticks or won't latch doesn't automatically need replacing. We look at the door panel, frame, hinges, and latch alignment together, then recommend the work that makes sense.

  • Repair is often the answer when the door and frame are sound and the problem is localized, such as loose hardware, rubbing, or a latch that misses its opening.
  • Replacement makes sense when a panel is damaged or warped, the frame has deteriorated, or you want a different door style.
  • Recurring problems get a closer look when a door becomes hard to use again after adjustment. Moisture, recent flooring changes, or movement around the opening can be the cause, and we'll work out which.

A quick description of what happens when you use the door helps: where it rubs, whether it needs a lift or a push to latch, and when it started.

How much does door installation or repair cost?

The price depends on the door and whether it needs an adjustment, a repair or a replacement.

Getting a free estimate is easy: tell us what you need, add a photo if you have one, and we'll take it from there. You'll know exactly what's included before any work starts.

Choosing a replacement: slab or prehung?

A slab replaces the door panel

A slab is the door itself. It's a good fit when the existing frame is in good condition. We match the dimensions, hinge locations, and handle preparation so the new panel hangs and latches the way it should.

A prehung door includes its frame

A prehung unit comes with the door already mounted in a frame. It's a great choice when the frame needs replacing too. We fit it to the opening, taking the wall thickness, swing direction, and surrounding trim into account.

Not sure which is right for your doorway? Sean can look at the opening with you and recommend the better option. It also helps to tell us which side the hinges are on and which way the door opens.

Hardware and finish, handled together

We can reuse your existing handles, hinges, and locks or install new ones, fitted to the door's thickness and prepared holes. If you'd like a smart lock installed, we'll set it up so it lines up and works smoothly with the door. The model number helps.

Replacing a frame can also touch the casing and nearby wall finish. We can take care of carpentry and trim repairs, drywall patching, and painting along with the installation, so the doorway ends up clean and finished.

Door installation and repair questions

Should I buy the door before requesting an estimate?

You're welcome to contact us first. We can look at the opening, frame, and swing with you so the door you choose fits the first time. If you already have a door, send us its dimensions and product details and we'll work from there.

Can you repair the frame without replacing the whole door?

Often, yes. It depends on the location and extent of the damage. Split wood, loose hinges, damaged trim, or signs of moisture are all worth showing us. A photo helps, and we'll recommend a repair or replacement and explain why.

How long will the job take?

Timing depends on the adjustments, fitting, frame work, and finishing involved. Painting or additional repairs may be done in separate stages. Tell us if you have a date in mind, and we'll plan the job around it.

Do I need to prepare anything for the appointment?

Not much. Having clear space around the doorway is helpful, and it's good to know about tight hallways, stairs, or furniture in the way. We'll walk you through the plan before we start.
